SelectUSA, a dynamic and mission-driven program to encourage business investment into the United States, is housed within the Global Markets division at the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Qualifications

  • All interns are required to be U.S. citizens and currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school program. Selected candidates must meet minimum security requirements by submitting to a background check upon arrival.
  • Academic and/or professional experience in international relations, international or general business, management, public policy, economics, international investment and/or trade issues
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • An ability to work independently, and are self-motivated
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Attention to detail

SelectUSA has vacancies for Summer 2024 Semester unpaid internships in Washington, DC. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience and insight into business investment in the United States, international capital flows, and U.S. investment policy. Transit benefits are included.

Duties will range across all aspects of the operation, including handling incoming investor inquiries; significant assignments in research, writing, and economic analysis; generation of reports, PowerPoint presentations, talking points, and briefing materials for U.S. government officials; and other related administrative and research activities.
