WHAT YOU’LL DO
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is seeking a Policy Analyst to support its health policy and advocacy initiatives at the federal and state levels. Reporting to the Vice President of Health Policy, the Policy Analyst will conduct policy research, track legislation and regulations, draft materials, and assist in the development of NKF’s policy positions and strategies. This role will play a key part in advancing policies that improve prevention, treatment, and access to care for people with or at risk of kidney disease.
Policy Research & Analysis
- Monitor and analyze federal and state legislation, regulatory activity, and budget proposals impacting kidney health.
- Prepare internal policy briefs, talking points, and memos summarizing complex issues for senior leadership and field staff.
Regulatory & Legislative Engagement
- Draft comment letters on proposed federal regulations.
- Support the creation and updating of NKF’s annual legislative and policy agenda.
- Assist in preparing materials and briefings for congressional meetings and public comment opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with NKF field offices to provide policy support for state-level advocacy campaigns.
- Engage with coalitions, patient advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders on aligned policy issues.
Content & Communication
- Develop policy summaries, fact sheets, and blog posts for policymakers, advocates, and the public.
- Assist with presentations and materials for NKF events, webinars, and advocacy campaigns.
- Tracking & Evaluation
- Maintain legislative and regulatory tracking systems.
- Help track outcomes of policy and advocacy activities and prepare summary reports.
